Making Our Kids More Resilient: Ours is a Teachable Moment in History

My grandmother (on the left) lost her father (in the middle) in a devastating train accident. She became a strong woman. A survivor.

Do your children know where their parents met, or what their grandparents’ lives were like during World War II or Vietnam? How did their ancestors whether the Great Depression? The Dust Bowl? A painful medical diagnosis?

During times of crisis, children who know their family’s history are more resilient than those who do not. This is a wonderful time to teach your own kids and grandkids about those in your family who have also weathered great storms.
